Our fourth issue of CANVAS, Viscopy's
newsletter, looks at the art world of New Zealand and
also talks about some misunderstood Viscopy services,
including Licensing and the Online Image Gallery.
We also have reports from our Indigenous Copyright
Education Officer detailing his current projects both
in Australia and New Zealand; our Licensing Manager
details our work in primary licensing.

DISTRIBUTION REPORT
Our most recent six-monthly distribution was finalised
in August 2005. Over $210,000 in royalties was returned to
Australian visual artists, a 6.3% increase over the previous
period (December 2004)
Indigenous artist members accounted for 16.7% of
the royalty paid.
Membership now stands at over 5,350.

VISCOPY CONSTITUTION (PDF - 408kb)
Viscopy’s Constitution has been accepted
by the membership. This
is a PDF copy of the constitution. Viscopy sent
details of the proposed changes to Members prior to
the November AGM; the constitution was unanimously accepted.
VISCOPY ONLINE IMAGE GALLERY
If you're a full member of VISCOPY, we invite
you to participate in our online image licensing gallery.
You can submit samples of your work to be displayed on our
site. Download and complete the Image Gallery Project participation
form and return it to us. Then you can submit up to a dozen
or more image of work (in electronic format), and we will
arrange to have this work uploaded to the gallery site. This
service is available to full VISCOPY members only.

VISCOPY INDIGENOUS EDUCATION OFFICER
Trevor James is the Indigenous Visual Copyright Officer at
VISCOPY, a position funded by DCITA.
Trevor, of both Kaurna and Arrernte descent, will provide
VISCOPY's national program of rights education in terms of
art practice. Prior to joining VISCOPY, Trevor was with both
the University of Sydney and the Indigenous Law Centre at
UNSW as Co-ordinator for the community education program.
