PUBLISHING AND BROADCAST CLAIMS
If your work has been used in a film or television program, you can register that usage with VISCOPY. Each year, VISCOPY receives information as to which audio-visual programs have been recorded in educational institutions. This type of copying occurs under statutory licence provisions in the Copyright Act 1968. It’s also this type of usage that can often return a royalty to the artist…
So, if you’ve noticed your work appearing in any audio-visual broadcast (even news and review broadcasts), download a PUBLISHING & BROADCAST CLAIMS FORM, complete the details and return it to us.
Keep in mind that it doesn’t matter if you’ve given permission for the work to be used in that program, or even if we’ve licensed the work on your behalf – if that program has been recorded for educational purposes, a further royalty may well be due to you.
